Job Description

  1. Facilities Operations & Maintenance:
    • Oversee the operation and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire safety, and other building systems.
    • Ensure that all facilities are properly maintained to meet operational requirements and safety standards.
    • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all systems and equipment.
    • Perform routine inspections to identify areas of concern, addressing issues before they cause operational disruptions.
  2. Team Leadership & Management:
    • Lead and manage a team of engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff, providing direction, guidance, and support.
    • Allocate tasks and monitor performance to ensure team efficiency and productivity.
    • Conduct regular training to enhance team skills, safety knowledge, and technical expertise.
    • Foster a collaborative work environment to drive a high-performance culture
  3. Budgeting & Cost Management:
    • Develop and manage the engineering department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
    • Monitor spending on repairs, maintenance, and projects to stay within budget while meeting operational needs.
    • Analyze and recommend energy-saving initiatives, sustainability improvements, and other cost-reduction measures.
  4. Safety & Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and safety standards (e.g., OSHA, fire safety).
    • Conduct safety audits and inspections to ensure workplace safety, risk mitigation, and hazard identification.
    • Develop and enforce emergency procedures and contingency plans to safeguard people and property.
  5. Facility Improvement Projects:
    • Plan and manage facility improvements, renovations, or upgrades to meet evolving operational needs.
    • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and within-budget project completion.
    • Oversee the installation and commissioning of new systems, equipment, and technologies.
  6. Energy Management & Sustainability:
    • Monitor energy usage and implement initiatives to reduce energy consumption.
    • Propose and implement environmentally sustainable practices within the facility.
    • Track and report on utility usage, identifying trends and opportunities for improvements.
  7. Vendor & Contract Management:
    • Manage relationships with third-party contractors, vendors, and service providers.
    • Negotiate contracts and ensure services are delivered according to agreements and specifications.
    • Review and manage service level agreements (SLAs) to maintain high service standards.
  8. Reporting & Documentation:
    • Prepare regular reports on facility operations, maintenance activities, budget status, and project progress.
    • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repair, and inspection activities for compliance purposes.
